Rider Bio:

Joanna Rowsell was born on the 5th December 1988 in Sutton, United Kingdom. Jo immediately showed potential on the bike and was scouted by the British Cycling’s Talent Team program whilst still at school in 2004.

Her early success began on the track when she won the individual pursuit at the British Track National Championships in 2005 and 2006. Rowsell continued to excel on the track, particularly in the team pursuit, with multiple World and European titles. Her biggest career win to date came last August at the 2012 London Olympics when she won gold in the team pursuit in an impressive new World Record time.

Jo has been racing with British club teams to prove that she is also a strong rider on the road. She has claimed a number of wins in Belgium Kermesses, is a previous winner of the British National Women’s Series competition and has placed third at the British National Road Championships.
